Certified Park and Recreation
Professional (CPRP) Certification

Why become a CPRP?

NRPA’s Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification is one of the most sought-after certifications in the park and recreation profession. According to Recreation Management magazine’s 2008 Salary Survey of more than 2000 individuals in the field, of those people who plan to seek new certifications, the most (40%) think they should become CPRPs.

For people now in the field, the CPRP certification tells your peers and your employer that you have met the certification’s high standards of education, expertise and experience. In a phrase, you are a committed professional! Many park and recreation agencies recommend or require CPRP certification when hiring for certain positions.

For students and recent graduates, the certification tells prospective employers that, in addition to your new degree, you have been tested on a wide range of practical knowledge that will allow you to “hit the ground running” as you enter the profession.
