The Wisconsin Park & Recreation Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization established to enhance the role of leisure and recreation services in the lives of all the people of Wisconsin through support of the following activities:

  Awarding grants and scholarships to park, recreation, and leisure service professionals.
  Awarding grants and scholarships to students in park, recreation, and leisure service professions.
  Promoting the development of park, recreation, and leisure service projects and programs.
  Advancing the concept of incorporating wellness principles into everyday life styles.
  Furthering education programs and projects related to the natural environment.
  Encouraging statewide research related to the impact of park, recreation, and leisure services provided to the citizens of Wisconsin.

FUND CATEGORIES

  Unrestricted Funds: A minimum contribution of $10 is specified for this non-named fund. Grants from this category can be made in the major philanthropic areas specified by the Foundation. This category allows the Board maximum flexibility in meeting charitable needs as they develop.

  Special Purpose Funds: A minimum contribution of $1,000 is specified for this non-named fund. Grants from this category are made with special philanthropic interest of the donor in mind.

  Named Funds: A minimum contribution of $3,000, or $3,000 accumulated over a three year period, is specified for this fund. Named Funds allow the donor to name the fund from which grants are made.

  Advised Funds: A minimum contribution of $3,000 is specified for the Advisory Named Fund. The Advised Fund's original donor makes suggestions to the Board about grant distribution, consistent with the Foundation's Statement of Purpose.
