Job Description The City of Chippewa Falls (Pop. 14,405) is accepting applications for the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising the administration and work of the department and overseeing approximately 100 full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees
- Developing recreation activities and services
- Establishing a program for use of volunteers
- Promoting and coordinating fundraising by businesses, organizations and individuals to contribute to department facilities and services
- Advising in the acquisition, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of recreation and park facilities
- Directing and controlling accounts for the expenditures and revenues of department funds
- Keeping informed of laws, regulations, and current developments affecting the department
- Interpreting recreation service to the public including participating in community meetings and organizational planning.
Qualifications Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Park and Recreation Administration and a minimum of five years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualified candidate must have strong supervisory management skills; possess excellent written and oral communication abilities; be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Products; and possess sound analytical and reasoning aptitude
Salary/Salary Range $58,972.79 - $70,767.35 dependent upon qualifications
