Recreation Section Professional of the Year: The WPRA Recreation Section Professional of the Year award is presented to a WPRA Member who is currently working as either a full-time or permanent part-time professional in recreation, with more than seven years of service.

Silver Star Awards
- Adult/Older Adult Programming: Programs, activities or services offered to adult or older adult populations.
- Creative Service Delivery/Marketing: Activities or services that are non-traditional in nature and enhance the agency’s missions. Included but not limited, to Recreation programming, strategic plans, fundraising, multi-party partnerships/sponsorships, and/or creative marketing initiatives.
- Special Events: Special, civic or community events that occur one time and require special programming needs.
- Youth Programming: Enrichment programs, sport or fitness programs, activities or services offered to youth populations on an on-going basis.
Entries for Silver Star Awards will be judged by the following criteria. Please keep responses to 200 words or less for each question.
- Goals: What are the goals of this program? (Responses may include, but are not limited to target audience, long term goal of this program/event, how did your program align with your community's/department's mission, etc)
- Objectives: What steps did you take to meet your goals?
- Outcomes: - Describe the program’s outcomes. (Responses may include, but are not limited to goal and actual registration numbers, max participation allowed and why, minimum participation needed to run the program/event, % of community population served, demographic of community served, etc)
- Operational Efficiency: How did this program demonstrate fiscal responsibility? (For example: partnerships, sponsorships, volunteers, staffing, etc) Highlight any specific operational efficiencies, or inefficiencies, that affected your budget or impacted this program. For any inefficiencies, how did your team work to overcome them?
- Creativity and Innovation: Detail the unique and innovative features of the program or event. (Responses may include, but are not limited to, implementation of new process/technique to programming, new technology, etc)
- Marketing: Describe how the program was marketed. Please attach any marketing materials.
